Deep Dive
The Discover phase is where assumptions meet reality. Most leaders operate on partial data and inherited beliefs about what's working. This phase mines financial performance, operational metrics, market data, and customer behavior to create a comprehensive fact sheet. It's often uncomfortable. Numbers reveal that profitable-seeming products lose money when fully costed. Star employees are in the wrong roles. Promising markets are actually saturated.
